Introducing Silver Cloud....
Our boat, Silver Cloud, has been lovingly put together for us by Woodvale. It is a proven design used many times in ocean rowing, and is intended to be self righting in the event that it does capsize. The boat has two rowing positions located in the central cockpit area, a small cabin in the stern provides shelter for sleeping and electrical/navigation equipment, and there is a watertight storage area in the bow of the boat. Other storage for food, water ballast etc is found in compartments under the deck.
Key Dimensions:
- Length: 29ft - the length of a mature male killer whale!
- Beam: 6.3ft (1.9m) - the length of a normal mattress
- Weight: Approx 1 tonne when loaded - about the same as 250 gallons of water
The boat is now built and painted, with rowing positions fitted. We've tried her a couple of times, and she goes like a dream!
