Navigation and Power

We navigate the boat using a Global Positioning System (GPS), backed up by the boat’s own compass. We will also take a reserve hand held GPS and even a sextant for astro navigation in case all else fails! We will also complete the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean theory examination as a part of our training & preparation.

Power for the boat’s systems such as the GPS, navigation light, cabin light and the water maker comes from solar panels, installed on the outside of the aft cabin, feeding rechargeable batteries located in a storage compartment of the aft cabin.
